/about the art I practice

Culture expresses itself in many ways, one of which is in the art of its people. Indian culture, as it is seen today, is an eclectic mix of people and traditions. The earliest known art form in India is tribal art. I have always been mesmerized with the simplicity and authenticity of tribal art forms. Here is my attempt to keep it alive and thriving in a land far away from its origins. 

 

Primarily, I have learned and worked in the areas of tribal art forms of India (Warli, Madhubani, Rangoli, and Chittara). I am also a Certified Zentangle Teacher (CZT); Zentangle® is a relatively young form of art that has its foundations in calligraphy.
